Priced Registration Options Add-on (beta)

The Priced Registration Options add-on lets you assign fixed prices to individual answer options on Event Espresso registration questions. Contact our support team to request access.

When an attendee selects a priced option during registration, Event Espresso adds that option to the transaction as a line item. The option price is included in the order total, payment amount, taxes when applicable, and registration pricing details.

Requirements

• Event Espresso core version 5.0.56 or higher
• WordPress version 4.5 or higher
• PHP version 7.4 or higher

What this add-on does

Use this add-on when you want a registration form question to affect the registration price.

Example uses include:

• Meal choices with different prices
• T-shirt sizes or merchandise add-ons
• Optional workshops or activities
• Printed materials or extras
• Paid attendee preferences collected during registration

For example, you could create a question called Lunch Option with these answer options:

If the attendee selects Premium lunch, the registration total increases by $25.00    .

Important note about question types

This add-on does not add a new “Price” question type.

Instead, it adds pricing fields to existing option-based registration questions.

Supported question types include:

• Radio Buttons
• Dropdown
• Checkboxes
• Multi Select

Use one of those question types when you want answer options to have prices.

How to add priced registration options

1. In your WordPress admin, go to Event Espresso > Registration Form.
2. Create a new question or edit an existing option-based question.
3. Choose an option-based question type, such as Radio Buttons, Dropdown, Checkboxes, or Multi Select.
4. Add your answer options as usual.
5. For each option that should affect the price, enter a value in the Price field.
6. If the option should be taxable, check the Taxable checkbox for that option.
7. Save the question.
8. Add the question to the appropriate question group or event registration form.

Price field

The Price field controls how much is added to the attendee’s registration total when that option is selected.

• Leave the price blank or set it to 0.00     for options that should not change the price.
• Enter a positive amount for paid options.
• Prices are fixed per selected option.

Example:

Taxable checkbox

The Taxable checkbox controls whether Event Espresso should apply tax to the priced option.

• Checked: the option is taxable.
• Unchecked: the option is not taxable.

Taxable priced options use Event Espresso’s existing tax calculation behavior.

What attendees see

On the registration form, priced options display the additional price beside the option label.
